With the festive season officially upon us, there's no better time to collect your crafting supplies and express your inner artist by adding some DIY decorations to your home.

Inspired by endless Pinterest scrolling, we’ve come up with some fun and innovative ways to decorate your home with Christmas cheer. So gather your friends and family together and get crafting!

Gingerbread Man Bunting

This is an easy activity to jump start you into the Christmas spirit! The bunting can be used to decorate any part of your home and requires minimal supplies – all you need is some red string, brown paper, scissors, and a white pen. Why not get creative and branch out to include reindeers, santa hats or Christmas trees…

Simple Christmas Wreath

A great way to upcycle some of the excess cardboard that always seems to appear at this time of year, is with these beautiful Christmas wreaths. Bring some nature to your front door or anywhere within your home, collect some foliage from your garden or local florist, some string and the cardboard and you’re ready to go. With the warm weather these wreaths won’t last all month but they are easy to update if need be, and the best part is that when Christmas is done this wreath can be recycled or added to the compost. No contributing to landfill or taking up storage space here!

Easy Scandinavian Gnomes

For a cheerful addition to your festive decorations, these super cute gnomes can be added to your Christmas tree or even placed onto a card or present for a personal, homemade touch. An easy step-by-step activity, you’ll no doubt be able to pull most of these items together from around your home.

Pop Stick Christmas Trees

A great activity to do with the younger members of the family, this very cute ornament will be added to your Christmas tree for years to come. Who thought some pop sticks, paint and pom poms could make such an impressive decoration! We think these are perfect for the grandparents…

Rainbow Felt Garland

Branch out from the traditional red and green and add some colour to your Christmas decorations this year. This super cute and easy to make garland can be made in any colour combination of your choice and be used anywhere in your home, from the tree to the front door to the dining table. Perhaps incorporate the same colour theme into your gift wrapping and table settings as well, ensuring a cohesive and stylish Christmas setting for you and your guests!

Paper Christmas Trees

This simple DIY will bring a sophisticated and minimalist touch to your house, whilst also helping to encourage your children's cutting and painting abilities. We recommend purchasing LED flameless candles to place under the Christmas trees adding a magical feeling to your decorations.Hattifant - 3D Christmas Tree | THE ORIGINAL | 3D Paper Christmas Tree with FREE printables

Snowman Ornament

Do you have empty jars that you’re not quite sure what to do with? Other than simply recycling that empty jam jar (which we fully support), we have another great use for it. Transform them into a friendly snowman with this simple project. Supplies needed include white, black and orange paint, and some cotton tips…easy peasy.
